What’s your name? Dustin Babij.
I have been a farmer since: I am the son of a second generation farmer and will be attending college this fall to eventually become the third generation.
I have been a Farm At Hand user: Just under a year. It’s one of the most accurate farm weather apps that I have used.
Where do you farm? Mannville, AB, Canada.
What do you grow: On the family farm we grow hard red spring wheat, feed barley, and canola.
How did you get into farming? I was born into a farming family. It is something that I have come to appreciate and want to do with my life.
What do you love about farming? It’s nice to be able to know where your food comes from and it feels good to know you are helping feeding the world as well.
Tell me a little bit about your farm and who you farm with: My parents, brother, and I operate a 1,400 mixed grain farm owned by my parents.
What’s one of your favourite moment in the field? Any moment without a breakdown because there is less stress created and everything just goes smoother.
What is your most important piece of equipment? The air drill. It’s the starting point of the entire operation.
If there is one thing you would like the general population to know about farming or Agriculture what would that be?
